North American screenprinting companies order CST technology - Several large-format CST Direct-to-Screen units have been sold to U.S. and Canadian screenprinters after visits to European installations where the DLP screen imaging technology is being used in multi-shift operations. The first of the 88" x 191" CST system will be installed at the beginning of January '06 with subsequent installations scheduled in the first quarter of 2006. The CST is now equipped with improved digital light management, automatic calibration and other patented process technologies.

A new and designated website for the revolutionary DLP imaging system from CST was specially designed to meet the demand of the screenprinting market for factual information about this emerging technology. This interactive platform is a forum for interested participants in the screenprinting industry to discuss this emerging screen making process as openly and as transparently as possible. It is our hope that this will be the beginning of a helpful contribution to the continuing success of the screenprinting technology.

SGIA '04 in Minneapolis was a tremendous success for Fineline who introduced the CST range of Direct-To-Screen imaging technologies. Besides CST's WaxJet and InkJet DTS systems, the talk of the show was the new Digital Light Processing Image Setter DLE that was exhibited on Fineline's booth. The premier showing of this revolutionary screen making process in North America attracted interest of screenprinters from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia and the Far East who expressed their surprise of the system's design simplicity, open architecture and operator convenience. Order commitments received for very large, vertical DLE systems (98" x 157" and 98" x 216") will result in first U.S. deliveries and installations in February/March 2005. DLE systems from CST are presently available from 40" x 40" to 13' x 26' with resolutions of either 65 or 90 lpi and imaging speeds from 200 to 500 sq.ft./hr

Krefeld, Germany - Fineline and CST reached a distribution
agreement during Drupa for Fineline to sell and support
CST's Direct-To-Screen technology in the USA, Canada,
and Mexico.
CST, abbreviated for Colour Scanning Technology GmbH, manufactures
a wide range of film plotters, drum color scanners, laser-engraving
systems for rotary screens, direct-to-screen imaging systems, and
other related digital processing equipment for the worldwide textile
and graphics art markets. In 1997, CST installed their first
Direct-To-Screen imaging system with a PIEZO print head, using inkjet
ink or wax as medium of which well over 200 machines have been sold
to multi-shift operations in Europe, Asia, North, Central and South
America.
CST is the only Direct-To-Screen imaging technology provider worldwide that can supply Direct-To-Screen equipment with ink, wax, or DLE light exposure technology that operates without the need of consumables. Screenprinters can now select DTS systems for screen sizes of 40" x 40" up to 13" x 26" with resolutions from 500 – 2,540 dpi, vertical or horizontal machines, and imaging speeds from 35 – 230 sq.ft/hr. Harlequin RIP provides all functions for digital output parameters. For more information, please download the PDF.
